Giovanna Aguilar is a Bilingual (Spanish) award-winning multimedia creator who is passionate about connecting people to stories of social impact.
As a communications professional, she works with C-suite executives and thought leaders across private and public sectors, including entrepreneurs bringing to market products and services that benefit the environment, and nonprofits driving community-driven initiatives through education, social justice, mental health and the arts.
As a filmmaker, she works on documentaries and narratives with universal themes celebrating the human spirit’s ability to inspire others for good. She is developing EPIC Women In Sports, a docuseries she will direct in 2023.
Her producing credits include the Emmy® Nominated When We Were Shuttle, a PBS documentary current streaming that explores what the Shuttle Program meant to the exceptional men and women who worked behind the scenes to help make it fly, and the Emmy® Award-winning When We Were Apollo (W3A) for Best Historical documentary about the enduring impact of the Apollo Space Program through the eyes of extraordinary everyday workers who helped put a human on the moon, both directed by Zack Weil.
She is a member of New York Women in Film & TV member, served as the Public Relations Chair (2010-2011) of the New York Chapter of the National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP), and the current Vice President of the Cliffside Park Arts Association, NJ. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science and energy and environmental studies from Hunter College of the City University of New York.
